Why Arista Only Builds Inground Gunite Pools

Most pool companies try to be everything to everyone. They’ll sell you a vinyl liner pool, a fiberglass shell or a concrete pool, depending on what you ask for. On paper, that sounds flexible. In practice, it means they’re splitting their time, crews and expertise across very different products.

Arista made a different choice. We only build inground gunite pools. It wasn’t a marketing decision. It was a business decision based on what we believe delivers the best result for the homeowner. Here’s why.

Specialists Get Better at One Thing

Think about who you’d want doing a delicate surgery. A general practitioner who handles a little of everything, or a surgeon who performs that exact operation every week? Specialization builds skill.

By focusing on one type of pool, our crews repeat the same proven process on every project. Our designers know exactly what gunite can do. Our construction methods have been refined over more than 20 years. Every lesson learned on one pool improves the next.

Gunite Is Built, Not Delivered

Vinyl and fiberglass pools rely on components that are manufactured somewhere else and installed in your yard. Gunite is different. It’s built on site, from the ground up, around your property.

How Gunite Works

After excavation, a framework of steel rebar is shaped to the exact design of your pool. Gunite, a dry mix of cement and sand, is then sprayed at high pressure over that steel, with water added right at the nozzle. That gives the applicator precise control over the mix as it goes on. The result is a dense, solid concrete shell reinforced with steel throughout.

Why We Use Gunite, Not Cheaper Alternatives

Not all sprayed concrete is the same. We use gunite as the foundation of every pool we build, and we don’t cut corners with cheaper materials.

What Gunite Allows Us to Build

Because the structure is formed on site, we can build almost anything into it.

Shapes

Geometric, freeform, L-shaped, lagoon-style or designed to follow the contours of your yard.

Depths

Shallow play areas, sport pools with consistent depth or deep ends for diving. Depth is designed around how you swim.

Steps and Benches

Wide entry steps, corner steps, and benches built right into the pool walls.

Tanning Ledges

Shallow sun shelves for loungers and young swimmers, built as part of the pool itself.

Integrated Spas

Spas that spill over into the pool or sit alongside it, built with the same structure and finishes.

Finishes

Plaster, pebble, quartz and tile finishes, with coping and waterline tile to match your home’s style.

One Process, Refined Pool After Pool

Specializing also means we never have to switch gears between different construction systems. Every pool starts with a free design consultation and 3-D renderings, so you can see your pool before anything is built. From there, the same experienced crews follow the same proven steps on every project, from flagging out the shape in your yard to the final hand-troweled plaster. That consistency is hard to match when a company is juggling three different kinds of pools.

Built to Last Decades

A steel-reinforced gunite shell is incredibly strong. It’s designed to handle soil movement and the freeze and thaw cycles of Pennsylvania winters. Just as important, when a gunite pool’s interior finish eventually shows its age, it can be resurfaced, giving the pool a fresh look without replacing the structure. That longevity is a big part of why we specialize.

What Specialization Means for You

When you work with a gunite specialist, you get a team that knows every step of the process. You get a design that’s truly custom. And you get a pool that’s built to be the most durable, most customizable and longest-lasting type of pool available.

At Arista Pool & Spa, every project follows our proven gunite pool construction process, from layout and excavation through steel, gunite, tile, coping and plaster.
